Executive Director
Chris Alice "Alie" Kratzer

Alie is an engineer, scientist, entrepreneur, and author with a degree in mechanical engineering from the Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT). Alie founded Owlfly LLC in 2020 and manages its two divisions: Owlfly Engineering and Owlfly Publishing. She has a proven track record of coordinating diverse material and human resources towards shared objectives.
Alie is internationally recognized for her innovation. Outside of Owlfly, Alie has professional engineering experience in manufacturing, metrology, ceramics, hydraulic pumps, precision casting, and aerospace. She is also an award-winning science communicator with two major titles to her name – The Social Wasps of North America (2022) and The Cicadas of North America (2024) – which established Alie as one of the youngest published field guide authors in history.
Electromechanical Automation Engineer
Zoey Katz

Zoey is an award-winning roboticist with a degree in electromechanical engineering from Penn State. She has an outstanding track record for leading engineering teams to develop autonomous systems. Outside of Owlfly, Zoey has professional engineering experience in manufacturing, utility-scale electrical systems, door hardware, and medical device packaging. Zoey works part-time in automotive design, modification, and resale on her nights and weekends.

Bubesh Kanna Devaraj

Bubesh Kanna has a Masters in engineering management from Northeastern University and undergraduate degrees in robotics, automation, and mechatronics from PSG Tech in Coimbatore. He is currently spearheading quality control assurance for our YellowJacket™ manufacturing lines. Bubesh has professional engineering experience in the design and optimization of complex manufacturing, robotics, electronics, medical device, warehousing, and packaging systems.

Mabel Fox

Mabel has an extensive background in computer systems and mechanical repair. She is uniquely qualified to assist our engineers in YellowJacket™ prototype development and experimentation, and her skill set is invaluable as we implement new industrial automation systems.
